AU Information
AU Name: Reyson Falkenrath
AU Age: 20
Physical Differences: As a human, and not a magical birdman, Reyson doesn't have wings or pointed ears or enhanced senses. He's significantly stronger, because OG Reyson is the frailest little meowmeow in the land. He's still a slender aristocratic twink but he can open a jar on his own.
AU History:
- Fancy noble from a good family in the Red Court's territory
- At some point during his childhood Reyson's parents insult a powerful vampire who decides to just slow burn indirectly ruin their entire lives as performance art. Various family members die or meet misfortune over the next decade.
- A series of fucked up murders is linked to the family, the local village thinks this is bad enough to burn their house down over it.
- Some NPC vampire (or I retcon a PC into it later if we mutually want to meld our backstories) who has been witnessing this whole procedure disapproves for inscrutable personal reasons, drags Reyson's half-dead body out of the rubble, gets him back on his feet, and is like hey. Come to the castle and become a vampire so you can find out the truth and get some revenge.
- And then he went to the castle to become a vampire and get his revenge and then he unlived happily ever after....?
AU Personality:
Less into the balance of nature and order, given that he signed up to be an unnatural bloodslurping undead creature. He doesn't eat red meat in this AU but because he just doesn't like the idea of eating animals, he does not like that they don't know that they are for eating and he is kind of a soft touch and he saw a cow once and it looked at him with big brown eyes and let him pet it on the nose. Fish are fine. You know, until he becomes a vampire and it's all blood all the time. There is a significant amount of cognitive dissonance that is going to be happening with him. (Canon Reyson is a vegetarian because of biology reasons, he would love to eat meat and worms but he cannot.)
Cares more about proper behavior and staying in line because vampires are quite threatening and he doesn't have the extensive social power and ability to fly away from situations that he does in canon. He will still do stupid reckless things constantly, he is just very aware that he should not. There are a lot more people who outrank him so he will be more polite to his elders in general.
Also he is the same species or at least base species as everyone else so he's less uh. There's a lot of specific last of his kind forest prince baggage he does not have that has been replaced with baggage that comes from being from a more traditional non-magical nobleman who has had to consider taxes and roads and inheritances and so on. And his brain is wired differently due to being a full time primate and not having mystical empathy powers that he has also been clamping down hard on for twenty years. So I won't be doing the usual bird instincts in the background until he regains that part of himself, if he does. Canon Reyson would have never climbed a tree in his life because he can fly, this one likes high places but from towers and such because he doesn't go climbing trees like some sort of peasant. That kind of thing. He ends up being pretty similar to his canon self on the surface but he's coming that way from a completely different direction.

Novice Information
Starting Season: Second.
Maker: Foundling
Anticipated Court: Gold. There are shallow reasons, like the color scheme and his canon self's path as an iron hand in a silk glove style noble diplomat with empathy powers, and he is still similar enough to that self for that end goal to click well for him... But mostly it is his need to get involved with politics and move things around. He's very bossy!
He's also very aggressive and into art and expressing oneself so he might end up being better in Red. Having him be poached would be really funny - shit, am I talking myself into it on the app? I might be.

Reyson Leblanc is a wildlife conservationist who works for the state of Oregon. He was born in Ashbrook, moved away as a child, and moved back for university. He has a BA in environmental science and is taking some time away from academia to get some real world experience and make some changes. He has ambition and believes whole heartedly in humanity's ability to live in harmony with the planet if he has to drag them to that state kicking and screaming.
He has local relatives, but lives in a small remote cabin out near Lake Cinder. He will say this is because it is because of his work if he is being diplomatic but it is actually because the Leblancs, Reyson included, are very dramatic and have strong opinions at each other when in close proximity.
His parents are both professional musicians. His father doesn't like that he is regulating his musical talents to a hobby instead of a career. His mother doesn't like that he isn't going to give her grandchildren. In arguments they both pretend it is because he has opinions on overpopulation but they both know it is because he is gay. None of their arguments go anywhere because they are papered over with false pretenses.
And now he's been replaced by someone very similar who is also a magical bird prince from another world.
Exciting features of the cabin:
It's sturdy, but vulnerable to power outages and being snowed in and so forth.
Indoors:
Mud room: Like a coatroom or entryway, but rustic. The laundry setup is also here - behind a door, but it's not big enough to be called a separate room.
Living Room: Notable features: A wood stove, a bookshelf, a pair of elderly armchairs. There might have been a television here at one point but it has been ousted to make way for a large aquarium, with a smaller terrarium on top of it. There is likely a turtle in one of these.
Bedroom: Small and cozy, built for warmth and insulation.
Bathroom: Usual bathroom furnishings. Reyson Leblanc liked fruit-scented products, the new model prefers seashore kinds of scents. Both of them favor sulfate-free ecofriendly soaps and shampoos. Many of the wall tiles are handmade.
Kitchen: There's a gas stove and Reyson trusts it less than he does the wood stove. He's living on fresh produce and trail mix.
Study: This is where the Macintosh Classic lives, as well as various tomes and journals as befit an environmental scholar.
Attic: Generations of weird junk lives up here. This might technically be a second bedroom? It has a skylight. It has a bed somewhere under the boxes of old trading cards and VHS tapes. The television is here somewhere.
Outdoors:
A garage, separate from the house. No electronic door on it, it is analog tech. There is a sort of woodshop-ish room at the back, which contains various tools and projects, and is also kind of a laboratory area that is mostly dedicated to light analysis and record-keeping.
Objects of interest in the main garage include a pickup truck that has clearly seen Some Shit, a lightweight canoe, and a chest freezer that is definitely large enough to hide a body. What it contains is generally going to be miscellaneous frozen treats, some of which are fruit-based and possibly safe for human consumption and some of which are raw crayfish.
An assortment of berry bushes are around. The birds get most of them.

ACTIVE TIMES/PACE:Slow and leisurely, I have an alternating work schedule so I might tag back faster every other weekend.
BRACKETS/PROSE: I will match.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: I can't handle shushing at all. I can read about it in the abstract, just not the written out noise itself.

IN CHARACTER
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: I'm game for it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm game for it.
RELATIONSHIPS: Game for it, love me some cross canon.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Oh boy! So first of all Reyson can read minds but there's a lot of roadblocks in canon to explain why he doesn't do it all the time. It's harder to do in chaotic situations, and also he considers it rude to do so he tries not to. So if you write out an internal monologue I won't have him read it ICly unless the player okays it but I'll have him pick up on hidden emotions sometimes unless the player naysays it. Or, you know, it seems like it would be more fun for him not to pick up on them. I'm flexible.
Also in vampire game specifically he does not have access to those. Yet!
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Galdrar, or seid magic, is channeled through song. Reyson is pretty bad at it by the standards of his bloodline (headcanon: because his personality isn't peaceful and orderly enough). He can do things like sing to restore energy and biological rhythms (game mechanics) on his own with no trouble, and can also do larger things like restore someone from fucked up mind-altering alchemy , but that will both take a while and knock him out from the effort. He could in theory restore plants to life by now, but we never see him do that by himself in canon.
Also he can turn into a massive white heron. He still wears the crown but as a necklace, so observant characters who have seen both could reasonably guess that the guy with big white wings has turned into a big white bird.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Being around strife and violence make him ill, which is the downside of the empathy powers. He spends a lot of time on the battlefield but can't actually attack because first of all it would make him horribly sick and second of all he's physically frail and bruises like a ripe peach. If he punches someone he'll bloody their nose and break his own hand. Which isn't to say he won't ever punch anyone, it will just have to be worth it, emotionally. Game mechanics wise, he is relatively resistant against offensive magic and status effects because of resistance and luck. Except for wind magic, because he is a bird.
Despite herons being carnivorous he is a magic bird and has a lot of dietary restrictions. He'd love to eat bugs and raw fish and so on, don't get him wrong. But he has a delicate stomach and will be eating vegan and gluten-free whenever possible. It's possible that he could eat, say, cooked fish, but the possibility hasn't occurred to him.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: The man's been through a genocide and is not shy about discussing it, he escaped a massive forest fire, he was actively suicidal because of body dysphoria and also the aforementioned genocide, and he was sold into slavery at one point. He doesn't actively think of himself as a former slave but it sure was something that happened to him.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL: Wiki link, for efficiency. Reyson is a little shorter than the average adult woman, and very slender and delicate, which he could do without. Long blonde hair, massive white wings, pointy ears, delicate woven circlet crown - he gives off an ethereal fairy tale prince impression.
AURAL: Low, mellow, and elegant. His speaking voice is rougher than his singing voice.
OLFACTORY: A little foresty.
DEMEANOUR: He's either going to come off as very calm and gentle or actively tense and snapping. He's not someone who holds back on his emotions if he is feeling them.

Nope's Peak Day 6
Mar. 8th, 2018 11:19 pmReyson has spent a notable portion of the morning sweeping up ashes in some of the more objectionable clothes found in his dresser, because this library is wretched, no place for courting at all. Also, nnnnot really a place where he enjoys being alone with his thoughts, but he's committed now. There will be a picnic blanket, so he doesn't need to drag in any rugs or fix any seating this time. Less ash is necessary, but he'd prefer to do better than just necessary. He'd rather not kill any real plant life by exposing them to this dismal hell, but there's some props from Little Shop of Horrors that are portable enough to set up on the shelves behind the area he's cleared.
He spends the rest of the time he has before the date taking a long shower, both to look presentable and to have like five minutes without that abominable scent clinging to him. He looks fine - a touch paler than usual, perhaps, but with nearly a week spent indoors, that's excusable, and he's been working on an empty stomach, anyway, there's an easy remedy for that. All there is to do at this point is meet Kiyo at the library door.
